ASAPP, Inc. Candidate Privacy Notice

LAST UPDATED: MAY 2026

At ASAPP, Inc. (“ASAPP,” “us,” or “we”), we are committed to respecting and protecting the privacy of individuals who apply for employment or other engagement opportunities with us.

This Candidate Privacy Notice (“Notice”) describes how ASAPP collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects your personal information when you visit our website, careers portal, or otherwise interact with us to apply for a job, internship, or contractual role. In this context, ASAPP acts as a Data Controller for your personal information.

This Notice does not apply to the data processing practices governed by our Customer agreements, where ASAPP acts as a Data Processor. If you have questions about this Notice or our information practices, please contact us at privacy@asapp.com.

A‍1. Information We Collect

‍

We collect personal information directly from you during the recruitment process, as well as from third parties and automated systems.

‍

Information You Provide Directly to Us

‍

  • Contact Information: Name, email address, phone number, and (if applicable) physical mailing address.
  • Professional and Employment History: Resume/CV, cover letter, work experience, education history, professional certifications, skills, and references.
  • Application and Interview Details: Salary expectations, notice period, preferred start date, and notes taken during interviews or technical assessments.
  • Voluntary Diversity and Equal Opportunity Data: Where permitted or required by local law, you may choose to provide self-identification data such as race, ethnicity, gender, veteran status, or disability status for equal employment opportunity monitoring. This information is purely voluntary and will not affect the hiring decision.

‍

Information Collected from Third Parties

‍

  • Recruitment Agencies: Information provided by recruiters or headhunters who submit your profile to us.
  • Professional Platforms: Publicly available professional information from platforms such as LinkedIn.
  • Background Check and Reference Providers: Verification of employment, education history, and background check results from third-party screening providers (conducted only where permitted by law and with your explicit consent).

‍

Information Collected Automatically

‍

When you visit our website or career portal, we automatically collect certain technical and network activity data via Google Analytics (such as your browser type, operating system, and pages viewed) to administer and optimize our portal. For more details, please see the Cookie Notice section below.

2. How We Use Your Personal Information

‍

We process your personal information only for legitimate recruitment and business management purposes, including:

‍

  • Evaluating and processing your application: Assessing your qualifications, skills, and experience against current open roles.
  • Managing the recruitment workflow: Communicating with you regarding your application status, scheduling interviews, and managing internal evaluation feedback.
  • Background and reference checking: Verifying your professional credentials and conducting background screening, where relevant and legally permissible.
  • Future job opportunities: Retaining your candidate profile to consider you for future roles at ASAPP that match your skillset.
  • Legal and regulatory compliance: Complying with mandatory employment laws, immigration regulations, and corporate reporting requirements.

3. How We Share Your Information

‍

We disclose your candidate personal information only to selected recipients for explicit business purposes. We do not sell candidate personal information.

‍

  • Internal Reviewers: ASAPP hiring managers, recruiters, and interviewers who need access to evaluate your application.
  • Service Providers: Technology providers who host our applicant tracking system (ATS), background screening companies, and IT/cloud hosting providers. All providers are contractually required to safeguard your data.
  • Affiliates and Subsidiaries: Corporate affiliates of ASAPP involved in managing global talent resources.
  • Compliance and Regulatory Authorities: To comply with subpoenas, court orders, or requests from public authorities when legally required.

4. How We Protect Your Information

‍

ASAPP maintains appropriate administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your personal information from loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. Third-party service providers are contractually obligated to maintain equivalent security measures in line with industry standards.

5. Data Retention

‍

We retain candidate personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the recruitment process and comply with legal requirements:

‍

  • Successful Candidates: If you accept an offer of employment with ASAPP, your candidate information will be transferred to your employee file and governed by our internal Employee Privacy Policy.
  • Unsuccessful Candidates: If you are not selected for the role, or if you decline our offer, we will retain your application data for up to [2 years] following the conclusion of the recruitment process. This allows us to consider you for future opportunities and to defend against potential legal claims. We securely delete or anonymize your data once this period expires.

6. Your Privacy Rights

‍

Depending on your location (such as California, the EEA, or the UK), you may have specific rights regarding your personal data. These rights include:

‍

  • Access / Know: Request access to the candidate information we hold about you and receive a portable copy.
  • Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Erasure ("Right to be Forgotten"): Request deletion of your personal data, subject to legal or regulatory retention obligations.
  • Restriction or Objection: Object to or restrict the processing of your data based on legitimate business interests.
  • Withdraw Consent: Withdraw your consent at any time for voluntary processing activities (such as receiving future job alerts).

‍

To exercise any of these rights, please email us at privacy@asapp.com. We will acknowledge your request within 10 business days and respond in full within the legally mandated timeframes (e.g., 30 days under GDPR, 45 days under CCPA).

Appendix: Additional Provisions for Individuals in the EEA and UK

‍

Pursuant to the EU/UK GDPR, ASAPP provides the following supplemental information for candidates located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom:

‍

Lawful Bases for Processing

‍

We process your candidate data under the following legal grounds:

  3. Legal Obligation (Article 6(1)(c) GDPR): Complying with statutory local laws, such as right-to-work checks or health and safety protocols.

‍

International Transfers

‍

ASAPP is headquartered in the United States. Candidate data submitted from the EEA or UK will be transferred to and processed in the US. To ensure your data remains protected, we utilize European Commission-approved Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and the UK International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA) for these transfers. You may request a copy of these safeguards by contacting privacy@asapp.com.
